Happy Anniversary ^_^

A lot has changed in the past 3 years. For example, I'm a senior in high school, I have two awesome brothers who will be four and two soon, I'm getting ready to go to college, and I'll be leaving to go to work in a little while (gotta 12-4). It's one of those things where I wish I could leave my younger self a note saying something wise like, "It gets better."

But I think part of me knew it would get better when I started my creative outlets. This blog was one of those means of escape that I made to give me something to connect myself with others. At the time (9th grade), I was in an online school, so it seemed like a perfect time to start blogging. Now, I have less time to blog, which saddens me because I realized it's been 3 years when Facebook notified me with one of those "On This Day" thingies.

I had a shift in values, but not a bad one. I have a lot to focus on with my career in film (I'm also working on a documentary, coming to you next summer), or just adulthood in general. I plan to continue sharing to my wonderful blog in due time. This post is just something I wanted to make to myself to say, "Thank you for making this website." And thank you to all the people who have helped me along the way, and made blogging a part of my life that I will never forget.

How Much Power Do Words Have?

Words are the main form of communication between humans. They help establish a sense of understanding between individuals. However, the way words are defined vary according to each person. This is because of their particular upbringing, and/or events that have occurred in their life to alter their understanding of said term. With this in mind, it is very difficult (or even impossible) to know how certain words will impact others. Whether seen with little meaning or great significance, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and feelings as to what context words should be used in.

How Should Parents Raise Their Children?

There is no set agenda to how a parent is supposed to set regulations for their children. The only case in which such an idea is legitimate is if there are particular outcomes a parent is trying to avoid for their child. Setting rules without the proper explanation towards how they help the child long term will only make them feel like they would have to sneak around. The method of regulation may even make the child feel that breaking said rules will punish them throughout their lifetime. The adequate key to parenting is not in keeping children in line, but in giving them standards to become decent adults. The main point of setting limits, nevertheless, is showing your attentiveness and care in what the subject is doing with their life.

Mind Blowing Music (2): Awesomeness

I have found some great music since my last playlist. And I mean music that shined a new light on how life can be seen. For starters, I had a chain reaction of musical unveiling that lead me to the Chilłwave Radio on Pandora. As of today, that is the estate on I listen to every morning to get ready for the day. It sounds like indie rock and trap music had a beautiful baby. It's great to skateboard to as well.

A few of these songs will be from that station, but a lot of it is from songs I've overheard and just had to look up or download so that I can listen to its greatness again.

Before I came to Williamstown, I lived in a city known as Clarkston in east Atlanta, Georgia. Atlanta is different from New Jersey in a lot of ways. One of the biggest differences I’ve noticed in that area was the amount of diverse cultures embraced. Considering nationalities exposed out there, it gave everyone the opportunity to embrace each other’s customs and establish a peaceful environment. On the contrary, it also gave the opportunity for the worst of customs to exposed.

So this week, my class started reading our next book: The Glass Castle. Over the weekend, I have to read up to page 57 and finish the study guide for it. I don't even think I'm on page 30 yet, and I already want to throw the book out the window like Bradley Cooper did on Silver Lining's Playbook.

The Artistic Art of Aging Artistry

I had decided when I was 14 that I would dedicate myself to being a part of the performing arts. It was mainly because of this indie film I got from Red-box that made me realize that movies don't have to be blockbusters, and can touch people's hearts without being expensive or popular. Kind of like the difference between basic, typical store-bought pastries and rare sentimental pastries made from scratch. It was enough to inspire me to reach people in the theater, and big screens.

This was the art I chose to partake in. But of course, there are plenty of other arts to be a part of. But I realized something about these arts: they're only based on pop culture.
