Diabetes and Hypertension (info & treatments)

Diabetes

Diabetes is a disease in which the body cannot receive the proper amount of glucose. It can be caused by the glucose (sugar) rate too be too high or low. High amounts of sugar is called hyperglycemia, ad low sugar is hypoglycemia.

A person with diabetes cannot produce or may not properlyuse pancreatic hormone insulin, in which controls the amounts of glucose that is absorbed into the cells. The brain needs glucose to function properly. After a person consumes a meal in which includes carbohydrates and/or proteins, their blood sugar may rise to 120-130 DL. (not over 140).  Beta-cells, an insulin from the pancreas, enter the body in order to lower the blood sugar. This process only occurs when proteins and carbohydrates are eaten.

People with type 2 diabetes could barely notice its occurence. 90-95% of the population of people with diabetes (18.2 billion people, 6.3% in the USA) Have type 2. In this type of diabetes, very little insulin is produced, but not enough for a cells' needs. Caucasians have a lesser chance of a diagnosage of type 2 than African Americans, Asian-Americans, etc. seeing how they seem to have more of a craving of sugary foods. Type 2 can also be caused by hormonal changes in pregnancy. Many of these people have diabetes through obesity. Symptoms of hyperglycemia are fatigue, incessant urination, extreme thirst, loss of weight, constant feeling of hunger, eyesight issues, heart disease, kidney disease, edema, nerve damage, and infections in the mouth, gums, lungs, skin, feet, bladder, and genital areas.

Treatments

Dosages of the following may reduce your hyperglycemia and "get rid" of your diabetes:

*Garlic (Kyolic from Wakunaga) : Decreases and stabilizes blood sugar levels. Enhances immunity and improves circulation.

*Vanadium : Aids insulin's ability to move glucose into cells. Use vanadyll sulfate form.

* Beanpod tea, made up of kidney, white, navy, limma, and northern beans, detoxifies the pancreas.

* Cedar berries are excellent nourishment for the pancreas.

* Dandelion root protects liver, which converts nutrients into glucose. Note: If you suffer from gall bladder problems, avoid large quantities of dandelion.

* Huckleberryy helps promote insulin production.

* Ginseng tea is believed to lower blood sugar level. Caution: Do not use if you have high blood pressure.

* 1-2 teaspoons of cinnamon a daywas shown to lower blood sugar, triglycerides, and cholesterol.

* Juniper berries have been found to lower blood glucose levels.

* Fenugreek seeds have been shown toreduce cholesterol and blood sugar levels. This can be purchased under the brand named Sugar-Down.

Hypertension

Hypertension, or high-blood pressure, is caused when the pressure of blood in the blood vessels is elevated. When this happens, the heart tries to work harder to continue the flow of blood. Several factors may determine the cause of hypertension, such as: the resistance to blood flow of the blood vessels, the volume of blood, the output of the heart, etc.

Women have a higher chance of receiving high blood pressure than men do. 70% of Americans have high blood pressure. 59% are being treated, 34% have controlled it. High-blood pressure has no symptoms, so it is referred to as the "silent killer." Advanced hypertension may include sweating, headaches, rapid pulse, shortness of breath, dizzines, and visual disturbances.

There are 2 types of hypertension: Primary, when it is not caused ny another disease, and Secondary, when hypertension is caused by another health problem. Primary can be caused by cigarette smoking, stress, obesity, excessive dosage of coffee or tea, drug abuse, and high sodium intake. Stress causes the wlls of a person's arteries to constrict. Further more, people in a generation of high-blood pressure are bound to be diagnosed with it.

Treatment

The following remedies are recommended to relieve hypertension:

* Hops and velerian root are good for calming the nerves.

* Mistletoe can reduce symptoms of high blood pressure, especially headaches and dizziness.

* Drink 3 cups of suma tea daily.

* Avoid licorice, for this herb can elevate blood pressure.

* Cayenne, chamomile, fennel, hawthorn berries, parsley, and rosemary foe high blood pressure.

* Selenium (200 mcg daily): Deficiency has been linked to heart disease.

*Vitamin C with bioflavonoids (3,000-6,000 mg daily, in divided doses): Improves adenal function; reduces blood clotting tendencies.

* Kelp (1,000-1,500 mg daily): A good source of minerals and natural iodine.

* Avoid alchohol, caffeine, and tobacco.

*Eat grains such as brown rice, buckwheat, millet, and oats.

* Take 2 teaspoons of flaxseed oil daily
